The United States Extends Republic Day Wishes to India, Recognizing Key Strategic Partnership
Washington, DC [US], January 26: The United States has extended warm Republic Day wishes to India, highlighting the country’s significance as a key strategic partner. In a press briefing on Thursday, US State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration in various critical areas between the two nations. Patel’s remarks were made in reference to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to the United States last summer, which further solidified the bilateral relationship.
In addition to the United States, the Russian Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, also conveyed his congratulations to India on its 75th Republic Day. Alipov expressed his wishes for prosperity, well-being, and a strong bilateral friendship, highlighting the enduring bond between Russia and India.
Meanwhile, India is eagerly preparing to commemorate its momentous 75th Republic Day with grand celebrations in the national capital. The theme of this year’s parade, titled Viksit Bharat, encompasses India’s rich cultural heritage, the transformative power of self-reliance (‘Aatmanirbhar’ initiative), and the growing strength of women in various domains (‘Nari Shakti’).
A remarkable feature of this year’s parade is the inclusion of an all-women Tri-Service contingent, marching confidently along the prestigious ‘Kartavya Path.’ In a powerful display of their capabilities, women pilots from the Indian Air Force will dazzle the audience during the fly-past, symbolizing the indomitable spirit of women power.
Notably, the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) contingents participating in the parade will exclusively comprise women personnel, further exemplifying their significant contributions to the nation’s security and well-being.
The parade, showcasing India’s defense forces, will feature magnificent cavalcades, state-of-the-art equipment displays, and the cultural diversity that defines the nation. The Republic Day parade is set to commence at 10:30 am and will captivate spectators for approximately 90 minutes. Following this solemn tribute, the Prime Minister and other esteemed dignitaries will witness the parade from the saluting dais at Kartavya Path.
The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, together with French President Emmanuel Macron, will be escorted by the prestigious President’s Bodyguard, a senior regiment of the Indian Army. The leaders’ arrival in the traditional buggy marks its revival after a forty-year hiatus.
The National Flag will be unfurled, accompanied by the resonant strains of the National Anthem and a resounding 21-gun salute, showcasing the indigenous 105-mm Indian Field Guns.
