The coldest place was Bijawar in Chhatarpur district, where the mercury plummeted to a bone-chilling 0.7 degrees Celsius. Bhopal, the state capital, recorded a minimum temperature of 7.4 degrees Celsius, marking the second time this winter that it reached this low. It had previously dropped to the same temperature on January 21.
Other regions that experienced extremely cold weather included Girwar in Shajapur district with a minimum temperature of 2.5 degrees Celsius, Anwari in Ashoknagar district at 3.1 degrees Celsius, and Sehore at 3.4 degrees Celsius. Satna recorded a nighttime temperature of 3.9 degrees Celsius.
Nowgaon in Chhatarpur district recorded a minimum temperature of 4.1 degrees Celsius, followed by Rajgarh at 5.2 degrees Celsius, Betul at 7.8 degrees Celsius, Gwalior at 7.9 degrees Celsius, Sidhi at 6 degrees Celsius, Sagar at 5.4 degrees Celsius, Chhindwara at 9.9 degrees Celsius, and Narmadapuram at 9 degrees Celsius.
Over the past 24 hours, cold wave conditions persisted in Satna and Sagar districts, while Khandwa, Khargone, Seoni, and Nowgong experienced cold daytime temperatures. Meanwhile, fog blanketed Morena, Bhind, Datia, Niwari, and Rewa.
The meteorological department has issued a warning for cold wave conditions in Satna and Sagar districts over the next 24 hours. Khandwa, Khargone, Seoni, Chhatarpur, and Bhind districts are also expected to experience the coldest day on Thursday.
In Bhopal, the weather is expected to be foggy, with winds blowing at a speed of 10-12 km per hour.
