Hero MotoCorp, one of the leading two-wheeler manufacturers globally, is set to make a bold entry into the mid-capacity segment of the Indian market with its latest release, the powerful Mavrick 440. With its foundation shared with the renowned Harley-Davidson X440, the Mavrick 440 boasts unique design elements and an array of impressive features.
Scheduled for launch on January 23, 2023, the Hero Mavrick 440 aims to challenge the dominance of Royal Enfield in the highly competitive mid-capacity segment. Triumph Speed 400 and the Harley-Davidson X440, both eyeing this sector, will face strong competition from the new Hero offering.
Positioned as Hero MotoCorp’s most powerful motorcycle model to date, the Mavrick 440 embodies a distinctive design. Notable design elements include a round headlamp featuring an H-shaped LED DRL and LED turn signals, reminiscent of its Harley-Davidson counterpart. The motorcycle also features a sculpted fuel tank, a flat handlebar, a single-piece seat, a short front fender, round bar-end mirrors, and telescopic forks at the front, providing a clear differentiation from the X440’s USD units.
Under the hood, the Mavrick 440 is equipped with a 440cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine, drawing inspiration from its Harley sibling. It remains to be seen if Hero MotoCorp will incorporate a different state of tune to complement the motorcycle’s unique character.
To offer a glimpse of what’s in store, Hero MotoCorp unveiled a teaser video highlighting the Mavrick 440’s features. The motorcycle will sport a fully digital instrument cluster, potentially equipped with turn-by-turn navigation. Additionally, Bluetooth connectivity with call alerts and other functionalities will enhance the overall riding experience.
In a bid to expand their product lineup, Hero MotoCorp also introduced the Xtreme 125R. Boasting an impressive acceleration time of just 5.9 seconds from 0 to 60 km/h, the Xtreme 125R offers more than just speed. Key features include an LED projector headlamp, Single Channel ABS, and remarkable fuel efficiency of 66 km/l. Built on a diamond-frame chassis, the motorcycle incorporates 37mm telescopic forks and a 7-step adjustable rear monoshock unit. Powering the Xtreme 125R is an 11.5 hp 125cc engine. The motorcycle will be available in two variants – one with IBS and the other with ABS – and will come in three vibrant colors: blue, red, and black.
As for pricing, the Xtreme 125R’s IBS variant will be available at Rs 95,000 (Ex-showroom), while the ABS variant will retail at Rs 99,500 (ex-showroom). Interested buyers can expect the Xtreme 125R to hit showrooms starting February 20th.
Hero MotoCorp’s foray into the mid-capacity segment demonstrates their commitment to catering to the diverse needs of motorcycle enthusiasts in India. With the launch of the powerful Mavrick 440 and the feature-packed Xtreme 125R, Hero MotoCorp is poised to make its mark in this highly competitive market.
