Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Tatyana Ilyushnikova, along with representatives from the Ministry of Health, conducted an assessment of the healthcare system and provision of medical care at the Arkhyz ski resort. The visit aimed to ensure prompt medical support for tourists and examine the interaction between private and public medical organizations in delivering high-quality services.

During the visit, federal department representatives inspected the surgical and intensive care departments at the Zelenchuk district hospital. They engaged in comprehensive discussions with Chief Physician Anatoly Velichko, focusing on the patient’s route. Additionally, they visited the paramedic and obstetric station (FAP), which acts as an intermediary unit between the district hospital and the village of Arkhyz. The readiness of the FAP to deliver necessary medical care and receive patients was thoroughly checked. Furthermore, the organization of the resort’s rescue service was closely examined.

Deputy Minister Tatyana Ilyushnikova expressed her belief that involving private medical organizations in providing medical care will enhance the quality standards of services offered to vacationers at the resort.

Anton Nazarenko, Director of the National Medical Research Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics, stressed the significance of promptly transporting injured patients to a medical facility at ski resorts. He explained that due to the prevalence of multiple injuries at such locations, ensuring patients reach a trauma center within 60 minutes is crucial for effective medical assistance. The proximity of the trauma center and the ability to utilize aviation resources for timely evacuations contribute to expedited medical intervention.

Ekaterina Karakulina, Director of the Department of Organization of Medical Care and Sanatorium Business at the Ministry of Health of Russia, emphasized the importance of overall system readiness. She highlighted the need for well-defined routing schemes, adequate material and technical equipment, and an appropriately staffed medical workforce at each stage of medical care. This comprehensive approach ensures the provision of high-quality and timely medical assistance to injured and ill tourists.

The initiative to involve private medical organizations in delivering medical care is expected to advance the quality and effectiveness of healthcare services for visitors to the Arkhyz ski resort. The combination of well-equipped facilities, efficient rescue services, and seamless coordination between private and public entities is set to improve the overall experience for tourists seeking medical assistance while enjoying their vacation.
