A biology teacher at Trinity Catholic High School in Woodford Green, Essex has been banned from the profession indefinitely after paying a pupil £500 to keep quiet about inappropriate behavior. Enda Feeney, 58, joined the school in 1987 and was suspended in March 2021 following allegations that he had sent messages to a student, referred to as Pupil A, and arranged to meet her, providing her with money. Feeney admitted meeting the pupil and exchanging money to prevent her from reporting him. In addition to asking if she was still a virgin, he requested cuddles, kisses, and a potentially intimate relationship. The panel concluded that Feeney had acted in a sexually motivated manner and lacked integrity. The decision maker on behalf of the Secretary of State for Education ruled that he cannot apply to restore his teaching eligibility and is prohibited from teaching indefinitely.
