The Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and United Russia Party (URP) announced plans to commemorate their 25 years of cooperation through a series of events. The agreement was reached during a videoconference between CPP President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and H.E. Dmitry Medvedev, URP Chairperson. Both leaders expressed their satisfaction with the longstanding bilateral cooperation, emphasizing trust, mutual support, and respect.
In their discussions, Hun Sen and Medvedev stressed the importance of supporting each other at bilateral, multilateral, and regional forums, with particular focus on promoting multilateralism in the region and the world. They also agreed on the need for mutual cooperation in countering the color revolution and reaffirmed their shared view that interference in internal affairs poses a threat to national security. Consequently, the CPP and URP pledged to avoid meddling in each other’s internal affairs and stand united against such interference.
Recognizing the significance of cooperation between young leaders, Medvedev commended Hun Sen and other CPP leaders for their prudent decision in selecting a young successor to ensure continuity in the long-term collaboration.
Furthermore, both Hun Sen and Medvedev voiced their support for Russia’s initiatives and initiatives of other friends in major forums such as BRICS, the Eurasian community, and the Russia-Mekong community.
The forthcoming events marking the 25th anniversary of CPP-URP cooperation serve to underline the enduring partnership between the two parties and their commitment to advancing mutual interests on various platforms. The commemorative events will provide an opportunity for reflection, celebration, and solidifying their cooperative ties.
The CPP-URP cooperation possesses regional and global significance, transcending borders and resonating with aspiring bilateral relationships worldwide. As the CPP and URP unite to mark this milestone, their partnership serves as an example of fruitful collaboration and cooperation in both regional and international contexts.
