Major Reshuffle in Jammu & Kashmir Police: 33 Officers Transferred & Posted, India

The government of Jammu and Kashmir has implemented a significant reshuffling within the police force, resulting in the immediate transfer and posting of 33 officers. The move aims to enhance operational efficiency and tackle various challenges faced by the administration.

Shivam Siddharth, an IPS officer, has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police for North Jammu, replacing Kuldeep Chand Handa. Ranjit Singh, the Superintendent of Police awaiting adjustment, has been designated as the Deputy Commandant for JKAP-8th Battalion.

Furthermore, Azhar Bashir Baba, the Additional Superintendent of Police for Security in Kashmir, has been relieved of his duties and assigned as the Superintendent of Police for APCR Kashmir. Similarly, Arif Amin Shah, formerly the Superintendent of Police for Headquarters in Srinagar, has been shifted to the position of Deputy Commandant for JKAP-9 Battalion.

Other notable transfers include Naresh Singh, who will now serve as the Joint Director for Headquarters in SSF Srinagar, taking over from Brijesh Kumar Sharma. Rajinder Singh, the Additional Superintendent of Police for Kishtwar, has been appointed as the Deputy Commandant for IR-21 Battalion.

Meanwhile, Mohd. Anwar-ul-Haq, the Additional Superintendent of Police in Udhampur, has been reassigned as the Additional Superintendent of Police for PCR Jammu. Vivek Shekhar Sharma, the Additional Superintendent of Police in Rajouri, will now serve as the Deputy Commandant for IR-15th Battalion.

In a similar vein, Feroz Ahmad has been designated as the Additional Superintendent of Police for Pulwama, replacing Tanweer Ahmad Dar who will now assume the role of Additional Superintendent of Police for Kulgam. Several other transfers within different units and departments have also been announced, such as Zoheb Tanweer, Amit Verma, and Mashkoor Ahmed Zargat.

In accordance with the reshuffling, Brijesh Kumar Sharma, the Joint Director for Headquarters in SSF Srinagar, has been transferred as the SP(Rural) in Jammu. This decision led to Rahul Charak being instructed to report to the Police Headquarters until further notice.

Furthermore, appointments have been made for vacant positions, including those of Farhat Jeelani, Vishal Manhas, Imtyaz Ahmad Rather, Shah Umar, Baljit Singh, Ghulam Mohd Bhat, Aejaz Ahmad Malik, Ruhail Mircha, Pardeep Kumar, Syed Majeed Mosavi, Musadiq Majid Basu, Salim Jahangir Lone, Showkat Ahmad Dar, Manish Kumar Sharma, and Imtiaz Ahmed.

The official order also mentioned that one post from the overall reserves would be utilized for the salary drawl of an officer from the security division.

The reshuffle is expected to bring forth a fresh wave of ideas and perspectives, contributing to a more effective and responsive police force in Jammu and Kashmir. The decision to transfer these officers aims to optimize their skills and expertise while addressing the needs and challenges faced by the region. With these changes in place, the government anticipates improved law enforcement and a bolstered security apparatus for the benefit of the people.
