Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 22 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that the unveiling of the idol of Ram Lalla during the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple on January 22 signifies the dawn of a new era. He expressed confidence that people will remember this significant date even after thousands of years.
Speaking at the function, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the construction of the Ram Mandir has reignited the spirit and energy of the people. He acknowledged the long wait and sacrifices made by the nation and stated, Lord Ram has finally arrived in his abode, marking the end of centuries of anticipation.
Describing the date as the commencement of a new era, the Prime Minister remarked, January 22, 2024, is not just a date, but the beginning of a new era. The construction of Ram Mandir has filled people with a new energy. Even after thousands of years, people will remember this date and moment. It’s Ram’s supreme blessings that we are witnessing it.
Prime Minister Modi expressed the belief that Lord Ram resides within the souls of all Indian citizens and proclaimed that the entire nation is celebrating Diwali today, the festival of lights associated with the return of Lord Ram. He further sought forgiveness from Lord Ram for the delay in constructing the temple.
Today, I apologize to Lord Ram as there was something lacking in our love and penance due to which this work (construction of Ram Temple) was not done for so many years. However, that gap has been bridged today, and I am confident that Lord Ram will forgive us, PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister extended his gratitude to the Supreme Court of India for delivering the verdict on November 9, 2019, which paved the way for the construction of the temple. He recognized that Lord Ram’s existence had been questioned, and the temple was constructed in accordance with the law as decreed by the court.
During the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, Prime Minister Modi walked into the temple premises with a silver umbrella placed on a red folded dupatta. Dressed in a cream-colored kurta paired with a cream dhoti and patka, he performed the sankalp for the ceremony before proceeding to the sanctum sanctorum to conduct the rituals.
The event witnessed the presence of notable personalities such as RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Chants of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ filled the air as devotees and guests attended the ceremony. Prime Minister Modi emphasized that Lord Ram is deeply connected to every particle of the Indian soul, stating, Ram resides in the hearts of Indians.
