Police Appeal for Witnesses to Fatal Collision in Wood Green
Police in London are calling for witnesses, information, and video footage from road users following a tragic collision in Wood Green that left an 83-year-old woman dead. The incident occurred on November 7, 2023, at approximately 11:15 a.m. when a man and a woman, both in their 80s, were struck by a car as they crossed the road at a zebra crossing on Bury Road.
The man was discharged from the hospital following treatment, but sadly, the woman, identified as Grigoria Yiannoullou from the Wood Green area, succumbed to her injuries and passed away on November 11.
Detective Sergeant Rebecca Collens from the Metropolitan Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit urged anyone who witnessed the incident or may have captured it on dashcam footage to come forward with information. She specifically requested assistance from individuals who were present in the area of the zebra crossing on Bury Road, near the junction of Lymington Avenue in Wood Green.
The driver of the car involved in the collision stopped at the scene and has since been interviewed under caution as part of the ongoing investigation. It is important to note that the driver has not been arrested.
