Cristiano Ronaldo hints at retirement date during Globe Soccer Awards

Football star Cristiano Ronaldo hinted at a possible retirement date during the recent Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai. The Portuguese ace, who turns 39 next month, has left his loyal fans and football enthusiasts wondering how much longer he will continue playing. Ronaldo, who has had a remarkable career with clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United, spoke about his future plans while accepting awards at the ceremony.

When asked about his retirement plans, Ronaldo jokingly replied, At the moment, when I finish, I don’t know to be honest. But of course, (it) will be soon. Soon, I mean, 10 years more. But no, I’m joking. While it remains uncertain when exactly he will retire, Ronaldo reassured his fans that he still has the ambition to compete with younger players like Erling Haaland of Manchester City.

Throughout his illustrious career, Ronaldo has faced his fair share of criticism. However, he believes that the obstacles he has encountered have only made him stronger. I’ve been a professional for 22 years. It is part of my journey. To be a better man, to be a better player, a better father. So it’s good. I like when people doubt about me and I prove again that I can be successful. Last year, I had a little bit of a difficult journey but I’m glad that it happened because it made me feel more stronger, Ronaldo shared.

Despite his age, Ronaldo continues to showcase his incredible skills on the field. He mentioned his recent accomplishments in the Saudi Pro League, where he currently plays for Al Nassr. Ronaldo expressed his opinion that the Saudi Pro League is just as competitive as the French league. To be honest, the Saudi League is not worse than the France league, in my opinion. In Saudi, no. I think it is more competitive. They can say whatever they want. It is just my opinion. I played there one year so I know what I’m talking about. But right now, I think we (Saudi Pro League) are better than the France league, he stated confidently.

As Ronaldo continues to impress with his performances and records, fans will eagerly await his decision regarding retirement. While he may be approaching 39, the age at which many athletes choose to retire, Ronaldo’s determination and hunger for success are still evident. For now, supporters around the world will relish the opportunity to witness the football icon’s remarkable skills and achievements on the field.
