Even after a month of the Delhi government allocating Rs 650 crore in its revised budget, retired employees of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) are still awaiting their pension payments. Over 15,000 retired DTC employees have not received their pensions for the past seven months, causing significant hardships.
In a similar vein, approximately 135 employees of the Delhi SC/ST/OBC Minorities Handicapped Financial and Development Corporation (DSFDC) have also not received their salaries for the last five months. These employees have approached the chief secretary, seeking immediate resolution to their ongoing salary payment issue.
Expressing their distress, the employees’ welfare association stated that the lack of salaries has placed an immense burden on their families, making it challenging to meet their basic needs. The association has reached out to the government for assistance.
A senior official from the Delhi government acknowledged the situation, assuring that the pension for one month would be released by Saturday. Furthermore, efforts to disburse the pending arrears are currently underway. Regarding the unpaid salaries of DSFDC employees, the official promised to verify the issue and take immediate action to address it.
These delays in pension and salary payments have left retired DTC employees and DSFDC staff struggling to make ends meet. With their financial well-being at stake, they have approached the relevant authorities for urgent intervention and resolution.
