A Jaipur court has rejected the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)’s plea to probe the 108 ambulance scam case abroad. In an alleged Rs 36-crore scam, the CBI had sought permission to investigate Ziqitza Health Care Ltd, which managed the ambulance service, in the US and Mauritius to identify foreign investors. However, the court dismissed the appeal, stating that the CBI should have obtained necessary documents from the Mumbai-based company located in India before seeking a letter rogatory. An investigation in 2018 charged Ravi Krishna, son of former Union Minister Vayalar Ravi, and the then company CEO and employee for their involvement in the scam. The court reasoned that it was not mandatory to accept a request for a letter rogatory in all cases.
