Gurgaon: A recent data analysis reveals that 45% of the recognized startups in Haryana are owned by women entrepreneurs. This statistic showcases the rising influence and contribution of women in the state’s startup ecosystem. Governor Bandaru Dattatreya shared this information during an event held at the HARTRON Innovation and Startup Hub in Udyog Vihar 1 on the occasion of National Startup Day.

According to the data from 2023, Haryana is home to more than 6,000 recognized startups, with over 14 of them achieving the coveted status of unicorns. This impressive growth signifies the state’s efforts in nurturing an entrepreneurial environment and encouraging innovation.

The celebration of National Startup Day in Haryana aligns with India’s observance of the foundation day of the Startup India program. Haryana implemented its own startup policy, providing numerous benefits to entrepreneurs. The Haryana State Startup Policy 2022, already notified by the state, grants various advantages to startups and incubators, promoting their growth and success.

Director general CG Rajini Kaanthan of the industries and commerce department emphasized the significance of the state’s startup policy. The policy actively supports startups and incubators, enabling them to thrive in a conducive and supportive ecosystem.

This development has the potential to bring about a significant change in the economic landscape of Haryana. By empowering women entrepreneurs, the state is fostering diversity and inclusivity, while also encouraging innovation and job creation. The surge in the number of startups, particularly those owned by women, showcases the untapped potential and talent that resides within Haryana.

The Haryana government’s efforts to promote a favorable startup ecosystem have not gone unnoticed. By providing essential support, resources, and benefits, it has paved the way for aspiring entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into successful enterprises. The recognition of 14 unicorns demonstrates the impact of these initiatives and positions Haryana as a leading hub for startups.

With the implementation of the Haryana State Startup Policy and the continued support from the government, it is expected that the number of startups, including those led by women entrepreneurs, will continue to grow. This growth will contribute to the state’s economy, foster innovation, and provide employment opportunities for the youth.

Haryana’s progress in promoting startups, particularly those led by women, serves as an inspiration for the entire nation. It sets an example for other states to follow, fostering an entrepreneurial culture that nurtures talent and fuels economic development.

As Haryana celebrates National Startup Day, it showcases its commitment to creating a vibrant startup ecosystem and acknowledges the crucial role played by women entrepreneurs in driving the state’s economic growth. The future looks bright for Haryana’s startups as they continue to innovate, disrupt industries, and make a mark on the global entrepreneurial landscape.
