Delhi and its neighbouring regions continue to grapple with persistent fog and a coldwave, causing disruptions in train and flight schedules. The national capital witnessed another chilly morning, with the minimum temperature dropping to 4 degrees Celsius. The dense fog led to delays and cancellations of several trains, and the Delhi airport reported disruptions affecting around 120 flights, both domestic and international.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for very dense fog and coldwave conditions in Delhi on Wednesday and Thursday. Additionally, a red alert was issued for Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday, with an orange alert for both states on Thursday. The adverse weather conditions are expected to impact commuting.

According to officials, visibility was severely affected due to the fog, leading to delays in train services. The fog, coupled with low temperatures, has created a challenging situation for commuters and travelers.

One airline passenger, Rajiv Mehta, expressed his frustration, stating, I have been waiting at the airport for hours, and my flight keeps getting delayed. It’s really inconvenient, especially when you have important commitments to attend to.

On Tuesday, approximately 30 flights departing from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport were delayed, and 17 were canceled due to weather conditions. The minimum temperature recorded on Tuesday was 4.8 degrees Celsius.

Passengers flying to and from Delhi are advised to check the status of their flights and make necessary arrangements to avoid any inconvenience.

In Rajasthan, coldwave conditions and dense fog prevailed in various parts of the state. The Jaipur weather center reported minimum temperatures of 2.9 degrees Celsius in Fatehpur and Karauli, 3 degrees Celsius in Sangriya, 4.3 degrees Celsius in Sriganganagar, 4.5 degrees Celsius in Alwar, 5 degrees Celsius in Sikar, 5.1 degrees Celsius in Pilani, and 5.4 degrees Celsius in Churu. While the weather remained dry in Rajasthan, some areas experienced dense fog, and coldwave conditions were recorded at many places, with Sriganganagar facing an extreme cold day.

These challenging weather conditions in Delhi and Rajasthan are likely to persist for the next few days, leading to continued disruption in transportation systems. Commuters and travelers are advised to stay updated with the latest weather information and plan their journeys accordingly.

The authorities are working diligently to mitigate the impact of the fog and cold wave. Efforts are being made to manage flight and train schedules, but passengers are urged to remain patient and cooperate with the necessary precautions.

In conclusion, Delhi and its neighboring regions are currently facing persistent fog and a coldwave, resulting in disruptions in train and flight schedules. The adverse weather conditions have prompted orange alerts and caused inconvenience to commuters and travelers. The authorities are taking necessary measures, but individuals are advised to stay informed and plan their journeys accordingly.
