A federal lawsuit has been filed accusing New York Knicks owner James Dolan of sexually assaulting a woman a decade ago and orchestrating her subsequent encounter with convicted film producer Harvey Weinstein, according to CBC Sports. The plaintiff, Kellye Croft, was a licensed massage therapist working on a tour for The Eagles in 2013 when Dolan’s band, JD & The Straight Shot, opened for the rock group. Croft alleges that Dolan used his power and influence to pressure her into having sex with him during the tour. The lawsuit states that Dolan flew Croft to Los Angeles, where he continued to exploit her and arranged for her to meet Weinstein in a hotel elevator in early 2014. Croft claims that Weinstein followed her into her hotel room and sexually assaulted her. She alleges that when she informed Dolan of the incident, he did not offer any assistance or express surprise. Croft is seeking a jury trial and unspecified damages. Dolan’s attorney has stated that there is no merit to the allegations, while NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has declined to comment on the specific case. Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for rape and sexual assault convictions.
