Atlanta Mourns the Loss of Diane Larché, Successful Businesswoman and PR Representative

Atlanta was struck with profound sadness on Friday, January 12, as news broke of the passing of Diane Larché, a revered businesswoman and prominent figure in the city’s public relations industry. Larché, 65, succumbed to pancreatic cancer, leaving behind a legacy of entrepreneurial success and a deep void in the hearts of those who knew her.

For over two decades, Larché served as the owner and operator of Larché Communications, an esteemed public relations agency based in Atlanta. Her expertise in the fields of public relations, marketing, and advertising enabled her to represent an impressive roster of clients in various industries, including politics, entertainment, and sports. Among her notable clients were Home Box Office (HBO), Dallas Mavericks Guard Jason Terry, and S.T.E.P.S. Events Planning Firm President & CEO Jamahl King, to name just a few.

But Larché’s contributions extended far beyond her business endeavors. She was an esteemed member of the Atlanta community and cherished friend to The Atlanta Voice, a publication she supported wholeheartedly. Larché also held a special place in her heart for the Black Press, advocating tirelessly for its recognition and advancement.

Hailing from Philadelphia, Larché’s impressive academic background included dual bachelor’s degrees in English and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as a Certificate in Publishing from Howard University. Her career began in journalism, where she worked as a newspaper and radio journalist.

Larché’s dedication to her profession led her to be a founding member and former board member of the National Association of Black Journalists Pittsburgh Chapter. In Atlanta, she was an active member of the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists, Public Relations Society of America, Atlanta Sports Council, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Atlanta Press Club, Junior League of Atlanta, Inc., and Atlanta Commission on Women.

In addition to her rich professional affiliations, Larché also served on the board of directors for organizations such as the League of Women Voters of Atlanta-Fulton County, the National Association of Black Cardiologists Center for Women’s Health, and the Lupus Foundation of America, Georgia Chapter.

Larché was a proud member of renowned sorority Delta Sigma Theta, Inc., Atlanta Alumnae Chapter. Her commitment to her faith was evident through her membership at Ben Hill United Methodist Church.

A shining accomplishment in Larché’s philanthropic efforts was her role as the founding and current president of the Greater Atlanta Section of the National Council of Negro (NCNW). This charter marked a historic milestone in the 83-year history of the organization.

The passing of Diane Larché leaves a void in the Atlanta business and community landscape. Her legacy as a successful businesswoman, influential community advocate, and cherished friend will continue to inspire and impact those whose lives she touched.

Atlanta mourns the loss of this remarkable individual, and our thoughts and condolences extend to her husband Joseph Larché, friends, and family during this difficult time. Diane Larché will forever be remembered for her indomitable spirit, unwavering dedication, and profound impact on the city she called home.
