Offshore drilling contractor Stena Drilling has announced that its drillship, the Stena Carron, is en route to Las Palmas to commence its special period survey (SPS). The Stena Carron has secured bookings until the end of June 2024, with the possibility of extending its operations until 2025 through available extension options.

The Stena Carron achieved a significant feat for ExxonMobil in January 2023 when it discovered new oil reserves off the coast of Guyana with the successful drilling of the Fangtooth SE-1 well. As a sixth-generation drillship, the Stena Carron boasts advanced capabilities, including the ability to operate in water depths of up to 10,000 feet.
