Sharon Osbourne: I had to be a big mouth to get heard within the industry

Sharon Osbourne, renowned TV star and talent manager, revealed that she developed a boisterous persona to make herself heard by men in the music industry. Having served as a judge on shows like The X Factor and America’s Got Talent, Osbourne shared her reflections on her career and the current state of the industry during an appearance on ITV’s Loose Women.

Osbourne acknowledged that women now hold more power in the industry than ever before, but she argued that men still harbor the same thoughts they used to, although they are now more cautious about expressing them openly. To navigate this male-dominated environment, Osbourne admitted that she had to adopt a bigger and louder personality in order to protect herself and ensure her opinions were taken seriously.

She explained, It was a thing that I had to do to protect myself, by being a big mouth, by being overly vocal to get my point across. I became a character that I had redeveloped for myself to keep myself safe.

Furthermore, Osbourne revealed that she occasionally resorted to unusual tactics to retaliate against those who were determined to undermine her. She admitted to sending her children’s faeces to individuals through the mail, a move she claims to have no regrets about.

Osbourne is now preparing for a new series titled Sharon Osbourne: Cut The Crap, where she will candidly discuss significant moments from her life, including her tumultuous marriage to Black Sabbath star Ozzy Osbourne. The 71-year-old TV star sees this as an opportunity to share her experiences and inspire others to learn from their own trials and tribulations.

With Jane Moore set to interview Osbourne, the show promises to be an interactive experience, as the audience will have the chance to ask Osbourne anything they please.

In addition to her own endeavors, Osbourne also shared an update on her husband Ozzy’s health. The 75-year-old rocker was forced to cease touring after undergoing extensive spinal surgery last year. Despite facing various health setbacks, including a significant fall in 2019 and a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in 2020, Osbourne reassured fans that her husband is doing well.

As an influential figure within the industry, Sharon Osbourne’s candid revelations shed light on the challenges women face and the strategies they employ to succeed. Through her upcoming series, she aims to impart wisdom and encourage others to embrace their own experiences as opportunities for growth and learning.
