The Nigerian Army’s 35 Artillery Brigade has handed over a significant amount of drugs, along with the suspects responsible, to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ogun State. The handover included 365 pieces of pawpaw-size wrapped Cannabis Sativa, weighing approximately 176KG. This decisive action is part of the Brigade’s ongoing collaboration with various security agencies to combat crime in the state.

Representing the Commander of the 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Mohammed Tajudeen Aminu, Colonel Legborsi Deedum Nule, the Garrison Commander, emphasized the Brigade’s unwavering commitment to maintaining high standards and professionalism in executing their duties.

The confiscated drugs and the suspects were apprehended by troops during routine patrols on January 6, 2024, at Olodo Imeko, along Imeko – Abeokuta road in Ogun State. The successful operation highlights the Army’s dedication to keeping the state free from criminal activities.

Commander of Narcotics Jane Ibiba Odili from the Ogun State Command of the NDLEA commended the efforts of the Brigade and expressed gratitude for their collaboration, stressing the importance of ongoing cooperation between the military and other security agencies in the state.
