Knife Crime Reaches 10-Year High in Berlin as Immigration Soars

The German capital Berlin has experienced a surge in knife crime, reaching the highest level in a decade in 2023. This increase in violent crime comes in parallel with a nationwide rise in immigration. Recently obtained data from the Berlin police indicates that overall violent crime has also hit a 10-year high.

According to a police spokesperson, Unfortunately, we will once again reach a 10-year high.

In Berlin, knives have become a weapon of choice and are predominantly used in assaults and robberies. The police recorded a staggering total of 3,550 knife crimes, equating to nearly 10 knife crimes a day in the city alone. These statistics raise concerns as they indicate a potential increase in the nationwide number of knife crimes, which numbered around 50 per day in Germany as of 2020.

While the latest figures do not specifically break down the data according to immigration status, previous crime data from Berlin has highlighted a significant overrepresentation of foreigners in knife attacks, violent crimes, rape, and murder. Back in 2017, Berliner Morgenpost reported that nearly half of all crime suspects in Berlin were foreigners, a number disproportionately high compared to their share of the population. Furthermore, as of 2019, foreigners accounted for half of all prisoners in Berlin. Despite these alarming trends, Berlin’s immigrant population continues to grow, reaching a record high in 2023.

The release of this crime data coincides with efforts by the left-liberal government to advocate for increased immigration, arguing that it enhances societal diversity and improves the standard of living for German citizens. However, the escalating costs of social welfare for immigrants, turmoil in the German school system, and a dramatic surge in violence and rape have resulted in a strong majority of the German public expressing opposition to mass immigration. Recent polls reveal that Germans now view migrants as more of a burden than a benefit and call for an end to mass immigration.

In addition to the rise in violent crime, the data from Berlin police highlights a troubling trend within the German school system. It shows a 10 percent increase in violent crimes committed within schools compared to the previous year. This increase aligns with previous reports that illustrate the challenges faced by teachers and students due to the growing diversity in the German school system. Teachers have experienced increased conflicts among students, leading to more violence directed at both educators and administrators. Consequently, this has resulted in a decline in German PISA test scores.

The data also reveals a significant increase in crimes within refugee shelters, with violence rising by 50 percent. This surge coincides with a 21 percent increase in the number of migrants residing in these shelters. Berlin has struggled to accommodate the influx of refugees and migrants, estimated to cost a minimum of €1.5 million per day to house migrants in just 12 different buildings, amounting to nearly half a billion euros annually.

As Germany continues to grapple with the consequences of increased immigration, the rise in knife crime, violence in schools, and crime within refugee shelters highlight the challenges faced by the country. These issues have led to a widespread call from the German public for a halt to mass immigration, as concerns mount regarding public safety and the strain on resources.

Overall, the recent surge in knife crime and violent incidents in Berlin underscores the urgent need for effective strategies to address these alarming trends. As Germany navigates the complex issue of immigration, it must prioritize the safety and well-being of its citizens while seeking to manage the integration of diverse populations within its society.
