Court of Appeals Reverses Sheriff’s Decision in Pulaski County Case

The Arkansas Court of Appeals has recently released opinions on various cases. Here is a summary of the proceedings that took place on January 10, 2024:

In a case from the Dallas County Circuit Court, Freddie Bradshaw v. Irene Bradshaw, the Court of Appeals affirmed the ruling. The Chief Judge Harrison, along with Judge Hixson, agreed with the decision.

In another case, Donald Martin v. Eric Higgins, as Sheriff of Pulaski County, AR, the Court of Appeals reversed the ruling from the Pulaski County Circuit Court, Sixth Division, and remanded it for further proceedings. Chief Judge Harrison and Judges Wood, Hixson, Murphy, and Brown agreed with the reversal, while Judges Gladwin, Gruber, and Barrett dissented.

Andrela Moore and Damien Garner v. Arkansas Department of Human Services and Minor Child was a case from the Hot Spring County Circuit Court. The Court of Appeals affirmed the ruling, with Judges Virden and Wood in agreement.

In the case of RATS Entertainment Park, LLC v. Rogers Land & Timber, LLC; and Joe M. Rogers, Sr., from Calhoun County Circuit Court, the Court of Appeals affirmed the decision. Chief Judge Harrison and Judge Gladwin were in agreement.

LeRoy Jackson v. State of Arkansas, a case from the Pulaski County Circuit Court, Third Division, was affirmed by the Court of Appeals. Chief Judge Harrison and Judge Klappenbach agreed with the decision.

Ashley Jacks, Individually and as Parent/Legal Custodian to Minor Beneficiaries, Paris Ludwig and Bayli Ludwig, of the Havis L. Jacks Revocable Trust v. Sandra Brossett, Individually, as Executrix of the Last Will and Testament of Havis L. Jacks, and as Trustee of the Havis L. Jacks Revocable Trust, was a case from the Pulaski County Circuit Court, Fifth Division. The Court of Appeals affirmed the ruling, with Judges Abramson, Gladwin, Wood, and Murphy agreeing. Chief Judge Harrison and Judges Virden, Barrett, and Hixson dissented.

Lastly, in the case of Jason Baxter v. State of Arkansas, from the White County Circuit Court, the Court of Appeals affirmed the decision. Judges Virden and Klappenbach were in agreement.
