Food Network star Darnell Ferguson arrested on strangulation, burglary charges
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Food Network host Darnell Superchef Ferguson has been arrested on charges of illegally entering a woman’s residence and allegedly strangling her, according to court documents.
Ferguson, 36, a former restaurateur in Louisville, Kentucky, is facing felony charges of burglary and strangulation, along with misdemeanor charges of assault, terroristic threatening, menacing, criminal mischief, and theft of a stolen debit or credit card.
Booking records in Louisville indicated that Ferguson had been processed at the Metro Corrections facility on Tuesday. He pleaded not guilty during an arraignment at the Jefferson County District Court on Wednesday and was later released on a $10,000 bond with orders to have no contact with the alleged victim.
The incident reportedly occurred on January 2, when the woman claimed that Ferguson entered her home without permission and began yelling at her regarding unanswered phone calls and text messages. She further alleged that Ferguson punched holes in the wall, broke a door, and proceeded to strangle her against a wall while threatening her life.
