The Himachal Pradesh government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last person in the queue, according to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. The government is actively engaging with rural communities, addressing their grievances at their doorsteps and taking policies and programs directly to them for maximum impact.
During his visit to Balduhak in the Nadaun assembly constituency of Hamirpur district, CM Sukhu assured the people that the Balduhak to Choru route, along with other connecting roads in the area, would be repaired before the summer season this year. This initiative aims to improve connectivity and facilitate easier movement for the residents.
In addition, CM Sukhu announced that the state government plans to make 20,000 recruitments across various government departments. He highlighted the increase in women’s reservation in police recruitment, which has now been raised to 30 percent. These efforts reflect the government’s commitment to not only offer employment opportunities but also ensure inclusivity and representation.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister stated that besides government employment, the government is also focusing on providing self-employment opportunities to the youth. Fulfilling their promise made during the assembly elections, the Congress Party has initiated the Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-up Scheme worth Rs. 680 crore. This scheme offers a 50 percent subsidy to young entrepreneurs who wish to purchase e-taxis. These e-taxis will be engaged with various government departments, ensuring a fixed income for the youth. The second phase of the scheme will extend financial assistance for setting up solar energy projects, guaranteeing a steady income for the youth over the next 25 years.
Additionally, CM Sukhu emphasized the government’s commitment to the economic prosperity of farmers. A new scheme based on natural farming, designed to provide farmers with a fixed income, will be introduced in the upcoming budget. The government has instructed officials to prepare a draft for this scheme, aiming to enhance the financial stability of farmers and facilitate sustainable agriculture practices.
On the healthcare front, CM Sukhu announced the establishment of the largest Cancer institute and nursing college in Himachal Pradesh at Medical College Hamirpur. This initiative aims to improve healthcare facilities and ensure better medical services for the people.
Speaking about the support he has received from the people of Nadaun, CM Sukhu expressed his gratitude. He acknowledged their unwavering faith and credited it for his opportunity to lead the state.
Kuldeep Singh Pathania, the District Congress President and Chairman of Kangra Cooperative Bank, praised the Chief Minister’s efforts in overcoming the economic crisis and implementing various welfare schemes for the common people. Pathania mentioned the increase in compensation under the special relief package, which facilitated assistance to disaster-affected individuals. He also commended CM Sukhu’s leadership during the disaster, highlighting recognition from prestigious organizations such as the World Bank and NITI Aayog, as well as former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar.
The Himachal Pradesh government, under the leadership of CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, continues to prioritize the welfare of its citizens. By ensuring the benefits of welfare schemes reach every individual, promoting self-employment opportunities, and investing in critical sectors such as healthcare and agriculture, the government aims to bring prosperity and growth to the state.
