Air India has introduced AI.g, a generative AI-powered virtual travel assistant called ChatGPT, to assist travelers with their inquiries and provide access to various features. The multilingual chatbot, accessible on WhatsApp, aims to open up a new guest support channel for Air India. Travelers can connect with AI.g through the WhatsApp number +91 96670 34444, communicating in their preferred language and receiving responses in the same tongue. Currently supporting Hindi, English, French, and German, AI.g allows users to switch to other languages easily.
With the help of AI.g, Air India guests can now check real-time flight status and baggage information, download boarding passes and e-tickets, select seats, and inquire about customer support requests, among many other things, all through a simple WhatsApp chat. This eliminates the need to call the airline’s customer contact center.
Rajesh Dogra, the chief customer experience officer at Air India, expressed the airline’s commitment to innovation and ensuring a seamless and delightful travel journey for their guests.
This move by Air India follows a similar initiative by IndiGo, who recently launched their own generative AI chatbot named 6Eskai. Developed in collaboration with Microsoft, 6Eskai offers various functionalities such as booking tickets, applying discounts, conducting web check-ins, and assisting with seat selection. The chatbot is capable of understanding both written and verbal instructions.
By introducing these AI chatbots, airlines like Air India and IndiGo are leveraging technology to enhance customer support and streamline the travel experience. Exciting innovations like AI.g and 6Eskai are expected to make a significant impact in the aviation industry, providing travelers with convenient and efficient tools to handle their travel-related queries and tasks.
In today’s fast-paced world, where technology plays a crucial role, incorporating AI-powered virtual assistants like AI.g and 6Eskai demonstrates the airlines’ commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation and meeting the evolving needs of their tech-savvy customers. With the increasing adoption of digital platforms and messaging applications, these chatbots are set to become indispensable travel companions for users worldwide.
As the aviation sector continues to adapt and embrace advancements in technology, the introduction of AI-powered chatbots represents an exciting step forward in improving the overall travel experience. With Air India and IndiGo leading the way, it wouldn’t be surprising to see other airlines following suit, integrating similar AI-driven solutions to enhance customer service and satisfaction.
By harnessing the power of generative AI and leveraging the popularity of messaging apps like WhatsApp, Air India and IndiGo are revolutionizing the way travelers interact with airlines. This forward-thinking approach empowers passengers, making travel-related inquiries and processes more accessible, convenient, and user-friendly.
