DMZ Cairo, a tech startup incubator operating at the Universities of Canada in Egypt has partnered with the Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBank) to launch the fintech track. This partnership aims to offer fintech startups an unrivaled platform for growth by combining DMZ Cairo’s established ecosystem with EBank’s industry knowledge. Startups participating in the DMZ Cairo Fintech Bootcamp will have access to mentorship, a vibrant network, and a chance to compete for a cash prize totaling 200,000 EGP. They’ll also receive fast-track entry into the upcoming DMZ Cairo incubator program, in-kind perks, and access to exclusive online content.
In a move to enhance collaboration and innovation, EBank has partnered with DMZ Cairo by Toronto Metropolitan University to offer selected startups the opportunity to pilot their fintech solutions within a real banking environment. Startups can gain valuable feedback, refine their products, and establish a solid foundation for successful market implementation. To facilitate this collaboration, selected startups can use top-notch co-working spaces and meeting facilities at the UofCanada Campus in the New Administrative Capital of Egypt.
Startups with a minimum viable product (MVP) or proof of concept (PoC) that address money circles, savings schemes, microfinance, instant cash, and portfolio management are encouraged to submit their applications before July 15, 2023. Collaboration between DMZ Cairo and EBank signifies a significant milestone in the fintech ecosystem of Egypt as both entities use their expertise, networks, and resources to create a thriving environment for startups.
