Xaba’s AI-powered Robotics Algorithms Deliver Consistency and Precision in Industrial Automation, Canada

Toronto-based company Xaba.ai has announced plans to open a robotics lab, thanks to $2 million in seed funding. The lab, which will focus on industrial robotics and cobot systems, aims to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to create digital twins that accurately model the physics of these systems, including their behavior and variations. By combining user input, machine vision, and other sensor input, Xaba’s system, known as Xcognition, creates a virtual environment where machine learning can explore various approaches to problem-solving. This leads to optimized solutions that are translated into programming code for execution. Xtrude, another AI-powered system developed by Xaba, is tailored to the additive manufacturing process. This system has recently been used to 3D-print the chassis of the APMA’s Project Arrow concept electric vehicle. Xaba’s robotics algorithms promise greater consistency, throughput, and accuracy, all while eliminating the need for specialized robotics programming talent. The company’s partnership with Lockheed Martin and Rolleri Robotic has already yielded impressive results, with Xcognition showcasing significant performance improvements in positioning and trajectory accuracy for cobots. The funding for Xaba’s robotics lab was led by BDC Capital’s Deep Tech Venture Fund, with support from Hitachi Ventures and existing investor Hazelview Ventures. With this funding, Xaba aims to establish its manufacturing platforms as go-to solutions for implementing intelligent robotics, developing automated factories, and driving new processes and materials.
