Samsung Display CEO Reveals Bold Vision for 2024 at CES

LAS VEGAS — In a surprising announcement, Samsung Display CEO Choi Joo-sun unveiled the company’s New Year vision, stating I am fine. Q! during a press conference at CES 2024. Choi personally wrote the phrase on a piece of white paper, highlighting the key areas of focus for Samsung Display in the coming year.

According to Choi, the letter I represents the company’s commitment to IT screens for laptops and tablets. Samsung Display plans to invest in 8.6-generation laptop displays and expects to see significant results by the end of the year.

Choi further elaborated on the vision, stating that A stands for automotive, while M represents micro displays. Samsung Display is determined to play a leading role in the future of glass-based micro displays, supporting technologies such as mixed reality, augmented reality, and virtual reality.

The letter F in fine represents Samsung Display’s ongoing efforts in the foldable display market. Choi revealed that the company has been working diligently on foldable displays for the past five to six years. This year, Samsung Display aims to enter a new phase in collaboration with clients.

Lastly, the letter Q signifies the company’s focus on QD-OLED, as Samsung Display aims to strengthen its position in the TV monitor business. Choi emphasized the company’s commitment to working hard in this area.

During CES 2024, Samsung Display showcased several groundbreaking display technologies, leaving attendees in awe. Notably, the company presented the Flex In and Out, a 360-degree-folding OLED display designed for mobile devices. Additionally, Samsung Display unveiled the Rollable Flex, which can unroll to five times the size of the original panel, and the Flex Hybrid, capable of being both rolled in and folded simultaneously, targeting the automotive display market.

Choi concluded his remarks by saying, This year will bring even more surprises than 2022 and 2023, but we will give our utmost effort in striving for success with our ‘I am fine. Q!’ vision.

As Samsung Display’s CEO laid out the company’s ambitious plans for the future, it is evident that the technological innovations presented at CES 2024 have the potential to reshape various industries. With their focus on IT screens, automotive displays, micro displays, foldable screens, and QD-OLED technology, Samsung Display aims to remain at the forefront of the display industry, delivering cutting-edge solutions to their customers.
