A man died after he was hit by a car Friday night on Brooks Street, Missoula police reported.
According to a Missoula Police Department news release, just before 7:30 p.m., an older man was driving a car when he struck the pedestrian near the 3300 block of Brooks Street.
The victim, a 44-year-old man, didn’t survive his injuries despite life-saving efforts by first responders, the news release stated. The driver is cooperating with police in the investigation, the release stated.
Authorities declined to release the victim’s identity pending notification of his family.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is currently underway, with both detectives and accident investigators dedicated to uncovering the details, the release stated. Updates will be provided as they become available.
