Israeli Leaders Present Day After Plans for Gaza at Knesset Event Sponsored by MEF

Israeli security, diplomatic, and political leaders gathered at the Knesset Israel Victory Caucus (KIVC) on January 2 to discuss plans for the future of Gaza. Under the auspices of the Middle East Forum’s Israel Victory Project (IVP), the event sought to explore how a battlefield victory in Gaza could pave the way for a lasting peace.

During the conference, Zvika Hauser, former head of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, outlined three key conditions for victory, including the expulsion of all Hamas members from the Strip, disarmament of heavy weaponry in Gaza, and the establishment of a buffer zone within the territory.

Yisrael and Naomi Weiser, parents of Staff Sergeant Roey Weiser who was killed in action on October 7th, emphasized the importance of complete victory without respite to prevent the rearming of enemy forces. They argued that anything less would fail to honor their son’s sacrifice in defense of the State of Israel.

Knesset member and KIVC co-chairman Ohad Tal emphasized the need for a strategic victory that would grant Israel permanent control over the entire Gaza Strip. Tal stated that Gaza is an integral part of the State of Israel and should be reclaimed accordingly.

In a significant address at the event, Iranian opposition leader Vahid Beheshti warned Israeli leaders about the looming threat posed by the Iranian government, urging them not to hesitate in attacking Iranian bases in Iran. Beheshti, the first-ever Iranian opposition leader to speak at the Knesset, revealed that Iranians yearned for freedom and democracy and that the Iranian government was at its weakest point in 44 years. He called on Israeli leaders to support efforts to overthrow the Iranian government to fundamentally transform the Middle East.

Nave Dromi, head of the Israel Victory Project, expressed satisfaction at the widespread consensus for achieving victory. However, he emphasized the need for a lasting defeat of Israel’s enemies, not just in Gaza but throughout the region.

The KIVC, formed in 2017, comprises members of the Knesset from both the ruling coalition and the opposition, collaborating with the Middle East Forum’s IVP to advance the goal of achieving victory over Palestinian rejectionism as a means of resolving the long-standing conflict.

The Middle East Forum, a non-profit organization, is committed to safeguarding Western civilization from Islamism and promoting American interests in the Middle East. With a focus on original ideas, targeted activism, and supporting allies, the organization aims to address the pressing issues affecting the region.
