The city unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Navi Mumbai has welcomed women auto rickshaw drivers into their party. The move is in line with the party’s inclusive approach and commitment to represent people from various sections of society.
Dhananjayaji Shinde, the AAP Maharashtra State Secretary, presented the appointment letter to the group of women auto-rickshaw drivers during a ceremony on Tuesday. Pooja Gosavi, a female auto-rickshaw driver, has been appointed as the President of the AAP Navi Mumbai Auto-Rickshaw Union.
Shyambhau Kadam, the AAP Navi Mumbai President, emphasized the party’s commitment to include individuals from all professions in the party. He highlighted that the AAP Navi Mumbai consists of highly educated citizens as well as hardworking individuals such as cleaning staff, Matahdi workers, and auto-rickshaw drivers.
The team’s Independence Day flag hoisting ceremony was conducted by a member of the NMMC’s cleaning staff. This highlights the party’s commitment to social equality without any discrimination when it comes to representation.
