WALHALLA, S.C. – A Walhalla man has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a child after climbing into her bedroom window, according to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation began on Wednesday evening when deputies responded to reports of a sexual assault on Dardouk Drive. The victim, a child between the ages of 11 and 14, was allegedly attacked by 21-year-old Marvin Francisco Funes Lobo. It was discovered during the investigation that Lobo entered the child’s home with her consent through her bedroom window on Tuesday night.
Authorities gathered evidence indicating that Lobo engaged in sexual intercourse with the minor before leaving the premises. Deputies apprehended Lobo at his home and placed him under arrest on a temporary custody order until an arrest warrant was issued.
Lobo has since been booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on a $150,000 surety bond.
