South Africa’s Proteas women’s team will face New Zealand on a home tour in September and October, as they continue their preparation for the next 50-over Women’s World Cup. The team is sixth in the ICC Women’s Championship and needs to climb the table to earn automatic qualification for the 2025 World Cup in India. Their three-match One-Day International series against New Zealand will be crucial in ensuring they take the easiest route to the World Cup without having to play in a qualifying tournament. The national side’s home tour against the White Ferns will include five T20 International matches and a warm-up match at Willowmoore Park between a New Zealand XI and a South Africa XI. The third ODI of the series, set to be held in Durban on 1 October, will also be a Black Day match to raise awareness of gender-based violence and promote gender equality.
