The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of being involved in the supply of substandard drugs in government hospitals and mohalla clinics. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva alleged that the scam was carried out at Kejriwal’s behest, and that he, along with the then Health Minister Manish Sisodia and the current Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj, were aware of it. Sachdeva claimed that the AAP government was taking kickbacks from private companies in exchange for medical tests and services. The Delhi government’s Directorate of Vigilance has referred the matter to the Ministry of Home Affairs for investigation. Notably, samples of an anti-epilepsy drug collected from a Delhi government facility were found to be spurious.
