STF Uttar Pradesh Arrests Two for Threat to Blow Up Ram Temple in Ayodhya
STF Uttar Pradesh has apprehended two individuals in Lucknow for their involvement in a plot to kill Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and detonate the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The suspects, identified as Tahar Singh and Om Prakash Mishra from Gonda, were captured following an investigation conducted by the Special Task Force.
Acting on information received on December 27, 2023, regarding a threat posted on a social media platform, the STF took swift action. The threat, posted under the handle @iDevendraOffice, mentioned Zubair Khan of the ISI as the source of the threat against the Chief Minister and the iconic Ram temple.
During the operation, the police confiscated two mobile phones, a WiFi router, and a Digital Video Recorder from the suspects. The STF revealed that Tahar Singh was responsible for creating a fake email address, which Om Prakash Mishra used to send the threatening message. Further investigation led to the arrest of Devendra Tiwari, who allegedly orchestrated the plot through his NGO.
Upon interrogation, the arrested individuals disclosed that Devendra Tiwari, associated with Bharatiya Kisan Manch and Bharatiya Gau Seva Parishad, had multiple cases registered against him in various police stations. Reportedly, Tiwari used his college, the Indian Institute Para Medical Sciences at Alambagh, to plan and execute the threat. Tahar Singh served as a social media handler, while Om Prakash Mishra worked as Tiwari’s personal secretary.
The STF also discovered that the threatening emails were sent using the WiFi router installed in Tiwari’s office. After sending the email, Tiwari destroyed the mobile phone used for the operation. The accused claimed that their actions were driven by the prospect of gaining social media attention and political advantage. A case has been filed against them under several sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act.
With the consistent efforts of STF Uttar Pradesh and the prompt response to the threat, the plot to harm Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and destroy the revered Ram temple in Ayodhya has been foiled. The successful operation highlights the commitment of the authorities in maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of revered religious sites and public figures.
