Chhattisgarh Government Recommends CBI Probe into Alleged 2021 Public Service Commission Examination Irregularities, India

In a significant move, the Chhattisgarh government has recommended a CBI investigation into the alleged irregularities in the Public Service Commission examination of 2021. The decision comes after receiving numerous complaints regarding the selection process for recruitment on 170 posts in 12 departments under the State service examination. Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao made the announcement during a press conference, stating, Many complaints of irregularities were received in the Public Service Commission examination of 2021, and as per our promise made ahead of the elections, the cabinet has decided to hand over the case to the CBI for thorough investigation. The move aims to address the concerns raised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding nepotism in candidate selection. The BJP had highlighted that relatives of politicians, IAS officers, and bureaucrats were included in the selection list. Prior to the state assembly elections, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao had committed to taking action on the Public Service Commission scam if the BJP came to power. Additionally, the Chhattisgarh government revised the maximum procurement limit of paddy to 21 quintals per acre for the ongoing marketing season of 2023-24. This decision ensures that farmers receive fair compensation for their produce. The move aligns with the Modi ki guarantee initiative, which aims to support and uplift farmers across the country.
