BRS to Rectify its Mistakes, Says KTR

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao acknowledges that mistakes were made by the party during the recent Assembly elections, and they are taking steps to rectify them. An internal action plan has been prepared, along with changes to the party’s outreach approach.

Speaking to the media in Hyderabad after a preparatory meeting for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, Mr. Rama Rao stated that feedback from the field indicated that both party members and the public were still grappling with the unexpected defeat of the BRS in the Assembly elections.

Despite the defeat with only a 2% vote difference compared to the Congress, the BRS managed to secure one-third of the Assembly seats, and it narrowly lost another 10 seats. Furthermore, the party received more votes than rival parties in seven of the Lok Sabha constituency limits. These factors prevented the party ranks from being badly demoralized.

Around 500 leaders from the Adilabad parliamentary constituency participated in the preparatory meeting, with 170 of them providing written suggestions. The leaders believed that the party should have focused more on strengthening itself. The meeting addressed not only the mistakes and shortcomings but also focused on how to rectify them and not repeat them in the upcoming Lok Sabha and local bodies elections.

Two booklets published by the party, Congress 420 promises and sweda patram, were distributed to all party activists during the meeting. The intent is for activists to disseminate the booklets widely among the people. Mr. Rama Rao accused the ruling party of attempting to divert attention from their actions through the use of white papers and inquiries. He emphasized that it was the BRS who had demanded an investigation into the allegations made by the Congress against their previous rule.

The Assembly election results challenged the Congress propaganda of the BRS being a B-team and established that it was, in fact, the BRS that defeated prominent BJP figures. Meanwhile, the BJP managed to defeat BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Notable party leaders including S. Niranjan Reddy, V. Prashanth Reddy, Kova Laxmi, Anil Jadhav, Jogu Ramanna, and others participated in the over five-hour-long meeting.

In summary, the BRS is taking responsibility for its mistakes in the Assembly elections and has developed an internal action plan to rectify them. The party is determined to overcome any shortcomings by modifying its outreach approach. With the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on the horizon, the BRS is actively working to address the concerns raised by its members and the public.
