A member of the Kanawha County Schools Board of Education has recently resigned in order to pursue a position on the Intermediate Court of Appeals of West Virginia. Ryan White announced his decision during the Kanawha County School Board meeting, stating that he will officially file his resignation next week. White, who has served on the board for 10 years, expressed gratitude to his colleagues and acknowledged the challenges they faced together. He also commended the staff for their professionalism and dedication. White’s departure from the Board of Education marks the end of his third four-year term. As an attorney, he runs the White Law Offices, PLLC, alongside his father and Mark Matkovich. He has also held legal positions in public service, including working as a law clerk and providing counsel to committees within the West Virginia Senate. White’s fellow board members expressed their appreciation for his contributions and expressed their sadness to see him go.
