West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee is set to travel to Patna a day before the meeting of non-BJP parties scheduled for June 23. Banerjee will meet Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad during her visit. Banerjee has already stated that she cannot support the Congress in West Bengal due to its alliance with the Left Front. Political observers believe that Banerjee may be asked for clarifications on this issue during the meeting, and Lalu Prasad may act as a mediator. The meeting was initially scheduled for June 12 but was postponed to June 23. The Congress state president in West Bengal has expressed doubts about the BJP’s attempts to plant Trojan Horses within the opposition alliance.
