A man has been taken to hospital after a major emergency service response was sparked at Nose’s Point in Seaham, County Durham. Concerns for the man’s welfare led to emergency services being called around 11.05 am on Wednesday. Multiple emergency responders, including the Coastguard, police, fire, paramedics, and the Great North Air Ambulance, were present along the coastline to assist the man. The crews left the scene at approximately 2.40 pm, with paramedics transporting the man to James Cook University Hospital for further treatment.
According to a spokesperson from Durham Constabulary, the police were alerted to a concern for the man’s welfare at Nose’s Point in Seaham around 11.15 am. Paramedics also arrived at the scene and subsequently transported the man to the hospital for treatment. The North East Ambulance Service dispatched an ambulance crew, a clinical team leader, and two crews from their Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), while also seeking support from the Great North Air Ambulance Service. The patient was then transported to James Cook University Hospital via road for further treatment.
Emergency responders from Seaham, Sunderland, and Hartlepool Coastguard Rescue Teams were dispatched by the Coastguard. In addition, four appliances from Seaham, Peterlee, and Newton Aycliffe attended the incident, as confirmed by a spokesperson from County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service. They concluded their operations at 1.40 pm.
