Arizona Cardinals Coach Jonathan Gannon Fully Supports Kyler Murray

Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon has publicly shown his unwavering support for quarterback Kyler Murray. In a recent interview on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Phoenix’s The Burns & Gambo Show, Gannon made it clear that he has no doubt about Murray’s future as the team’s starting quarterback.

When asked if there was any uncertainty about Murray’s role next season, Gannon confidently replied, No, there is not. I love [Murray]. Despite having coached Murray for less than two months, Gannon expressed his deep conviction in the young quarterback’s abilities.

I’ve been here for a year with him now, and I’m more convinced than when I got here, Gannon revealed. He went on to praise Murray’s dedication and hard work, saying, He’s done everything we asked. I just feel like what he’s done, the work he’s put in to get to this point … I’ve been very pleased with him.

Gannon took over as the Cardinals’ head coach in February 2023, while Murray was in the early stages of recovering from a torn ACL. Murray’s return to action for the team was delayed until November, but since then, he has made a significant impact.

In the current season, Murray has completed 64.7 percent of his passes for 1,537 yards, throwing 9 touchdowns and 5 interceptions in seven games. His standout performance came in a recent victory over Gannon’s former team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

While the Cardinals have faced their fair share of challenges this season, sitting at a 4-12 record, they have a 3-4 win-loss ratio when Murray is leading the offense. This has prompted speculation about Murray’s future with the team. However, Gannon’s comments indicate that he firmly believes Murray is the right quarterback for the Cardinals moving forward.

Coach Gannon’s unwavering support for Murray comes as a vote of confidence in the young quarterback’s abilities. With Gannon’s affirmation of Murray’s potential, it seems likely that the Cardinals will continue to rely on him as their quarterback of the future.

In conclusion, Jonathan Gannon, the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, has made it clear that he fully supports Kyler Murray as the team’s starting quarterback. Gannon’s conviction in Murray’s abilities and praise for his hard work emphasize that Murray has the complete backing of his coach. As the Cardinals move forward, Murray’s role as the team’s quarterback seems secure, despite the challenges they have faced this season.
