An NI rehoming centre is urgently appealing for support after a member of the public rescued a box of puppies found stranded on a road in Co Tyrone. The Mid Ulster Rehoming Centre for Dogs, based in Stewartstown, shared a photo on Facebook of the four pups, who are approximately 8-10 weeks old. This is the fourth litter of puppies received by the center over the festive period. The rehoming center is seeking financial assistance as the cost of caring for the puppies is significant. The USPCA animal charity has also sadly announced the passing of a dog named Asha, who escaped from a car while being transported to their center after being rescued. Asha, a 10-month-old Cocker Spaniel mix, had undergone surgery and had her leg amputated. The USPCA is devastated by the loss and grateful for the community support during the search efforts. It is important to note that rehoming centers often become overwhelmed with abandoned pets after the holiday season.
