Grover Norquist: Republicans stopped the bleeding in 2023 while Bidenomics failed

House Republicans are intensifying their efforts to investigate President Joe Biden as they ramp up their impeachment probe. The year 2023 has been pivotal for Americans who prioritize a strong America, individual liberties, lower taxes, increased job opportunities, and improved education for all children.

Over the past three years, the nation has endured the consequences of Bidenomics, which include excessive and wasteful spending, corrupt subsidies, inflation, burdensome regulations influenced by special interests, and tax policies that hinder job growth. Middle America has experienced the true cost of Bidenomics and its role in driving inflation.

However, amidst these challenges, Republican-governed states have demonstrated their ability to establish efficient and cost-effective governance. Consequently, more and more Americans are relocating from expensive blue states to prosperous red states.

The year 2023 follows two difficult years for all Americans. The Democratic Party held control over the House, Senate, and White House without restraint in both 2021 and 2022.

During this period, Bidenomics was imposed on America, resulting in increased taxes and unprecedented levels of spending. Trillions of dollars were funneled into corporate subsidies under the guise of climate change, benefitting only a select few. As a consequence, the national debt skyrocketed, burdening future generations.

The effects of Bidenomics were far-reaching. Inflation rates reached levels not seen since the troubled economy of Jimmy Carter over 40 years ago. The cost of living rose nearly 20%, outpacing wage growth and leaving many Americans feeling financially strained. Savings dwindled, and the prospect of prosperity seemed increasingly distant.

Bidenomics also led to the imposition of new taxes and regulations on American workers and businesses, leading to the outsourcing of jobs, investments, and savings to foreign nations such as China and Europe.

However, there is hope on the horizon. In 2023, Republicans regained control of the House of Representatives, and the bleeding caused by Bidenomics began to slow. The GOP succeeded in halting tax increases and reining in excessive spending.

At the state level, Republican-led states have made significant progress in reducing state income taxes, with the ultimate goal of eliminating them entirely. A dozen states have already achieved a zero state personal income tax, while others have implemented a single-rate income tax, making it more difficult to increase taxes and easier to reduce them, benefiting all taxpayers.

Education has also seen positive developments. More than a dozen states have introduced laws that ensure state funding follows students, regardless of whether they choose public, charter, private, or homeschooling options.

Furthermore, workers’ rights have been protected in various states, with Tennessee enshrining the right to work in its state constitution. Now, over half of the states in the nation safeguard workers from being compelled to join unions or pay union dues to maintain employment.

The federalist nature of the United States allows for healthy competition among states, incentivizing them to provide the best governance at the lowest cost. Americans have the freedom to relocate from poorly governed states like California and New York to well-governed states like Tennessee, Florida, and Texas. This mobility enables individuals and families to pursue prosperity and growth, away from the detrimental effects of inflation, debt, and Bidenomics.

As 2023 draws to a close, it is necessary to reflect on a year marked by national-level failures and success in states governed by conservatives. Bidenomics has proven detrimental to the nation, while states led by Republicans have thrived.

Americans now have the opportunity to shape their own future, free from the shackles of inflation, debt, and excessive government intervention.
