Bengaluru, Dec 30 – Sri Rama Sena President Pramod Muthalik has accused Muslims and Christians of exploiting devotees of the Sabarimala temple, a famous pilgrimage site in South India. Muthalik highlighted the temple’s significance, stating that about five crore devotees from six states visit it, generating over Rs 3,000 crore in revenue. He criticized the Kerala state government, alleging that it doesn’t believe in God and fails to provide necessary facilities for the devotees. Muthalik called for support from the Karnataka government and demanded talks with Kerala to ensure better amenities, including the resumption of the free food distribution program.

The revenue of the temple is used for its convenience. The facilities for the convenience of five crore devotees of Sabarimala are not provided. The government is threatening the management of the temple, Muthalik expressed his concerns.

He further criticized the ban on Hindu organizations’ arrangement of Anna Prasadam (free food distribution) for devotees, which was later handed over to the police department. Muthalik emphasized the need for rectifying the system to enable devotees to receive Prasadam. He also stressed the importance of providing water availability, bathroom facilities, and reinstating the previous parking system at the temple.

As concerns rise about the treatment of devotees at the Sabarimala temple, Muthalik urged the Karnataka government to intervene and hold discussions with the Kerala government. His demand for improved facilities comes in response to allegations that the Kerala state government neglects the needs of the five crore devotees visiting the temple.

The Sabarimala temple holds great significance as a spiritual and pilgrimage center, attracting devotees from across South India. It has become a major source of revenue, generating over Rs 3,000 crore. However, Muthalik claims that this significant income is not being utilized for the convenience and benefit of the devotees. He criticized the actions of the Kerala state government, which he believes is threatening the management and neglecting the establishment’s obligations.

Muthalik’s call for support from the Karnataka government aims to address the lack of facilities provided to the devotees. He urged for talks between the two state governments to ensure a better experience for the devotees visiting Sabarimala. Muthalik emphasized the importance of resuming the free food distribution program, rectifying the Anna Prasadam distribution system, and improving water availability, bathroom facilities, and parking arrangements.

The allegations made by Muthalik have sparked a debate around the treatment of devotees at the Sabarimala temple. As this issue gains attention, it remains to be seen whether the Karnataka government will take up the cause and engage in discussions with the Kerala government to improve the facilities for devotees and address the concerns raised by Muthalik.

In the midst of this controversy, the focus is on ensuring that the temple fulfills its responsibilities to the devotees. The management must work together with the relevant authorities to provide necessary amenities and maintain the spiritual sanctity of the Sabarimala temple for the millions of devotees who visit each year.
