Indian Airline to Acquire 470 Planes from Airbus and Boeing

Indian airline Air India has firmed up its order for a huge 470 aircraft, purchasing from Airbus and Boeing at the Paris airshow on Tuesday. Valued at $70bn according to list prices, the vast majority of the planes will be delivered by mid-2025. Owned by Tata, Air India has entered into separate purchase agreements with both Airbus and Boeing, as it seeks to revamp its fleet and improve its services. The order comprises a broad range of aircraft, including 34 A350-1000s, six A350-900s, 140 A320neos and 70 A321neos, as well as 20 787 Dreamliners, ten 777Xs and 190 737 MAX narrowbody planes.
