Actor Pierce Brosnan Charged for Entering Off-Limits Areas in Yellowstone National Park
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Pierce Brosnan, renowned for his portrayal of James Bond in multiple movies, has recently found himself in a legal predicament. The 70-year-old actor has been charged with stepping out of bounds in thermal areas of Yellowstone National Park, according to The Associated Press.
Brosnan allegedly ventured into the restricted Mammoth Terraces on November 1st, in the northern region of Yellowstone near the Wyoming and Montana state lines. Federal citations were issued to him on Tuesday, highlighting his violation of park regulations.
The thermal areas in Yellowstone National Park, home to hot springs, geysers, mudpots, travertine terraces, and fumaroles, pose considerable risks due to the thin crust that separates the ground from boiling hot springs. The park advises visitors to exercise caution, discouraging activities such as nighttime travel through thermal areas, the presence of livestock within these regions, and any alteration or placement of objects in thermal features. Additionally, swimming or bathing in purely thermal water is strictly prohibited.
Despite repeated warnings and clear guidelines, some Yellowstone visitors choose to stray from designated paths, often resulting in severe burns, as reported by the AP.
Pierce Brosnan is scheduled to appear in court on January 23rd for his citations. Requests for comment were made to Brosnan’s Instagram account by the AP, while CNN sought input from his representatives.
