Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], December 28 (ANI): Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the trust responsible for the construction and management of the much-awaited Ram Temple in Ayodhya, is set to hold a meeting today. The main agenda of the meeting will be the discussion on the idol of Lord Ram, which will be installed inside the temple’s sanctum sanctorum during the grand opening on January 22.
According to sources, the meeting will also focus on the preparations for the consecration ceremony of the temple, which is scheduled to take place on January 22. Another significant item on the agenda is the selection of the idol of Ram Lalla.
Trust secretary Champat Rai announced that three designs of a 51-inch tall idol of Lord Ram, reflecting a five-year-old Ram Lalla, are being considered. The one which has the best divineness and a child-like look about it will be selected, he stated.
Rai further elaborated on the construction of the temple, highlighting the massive scale of the structure. A total of 21-22 lakh cubic feet of stone has been used in the construction of the entire structure. Such a big stone structure has never been built in North or South India even in the last 100-200 years, he said.
He also provided details about the foundation and materials used, stating that a 56-layered artificial rock foundation has been laid below the structure. Additionally, 17,000 granite blocks sourced from Karnataka and Telangana have been used for the plinth, while pink-colored sandstone from Bharatpur, Rajasthan, has been utilized for the temple structure. The sanctum sanctorum is made of pure white Makrana marble.
The consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple on January 22 is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Preparations for the event are currently underway, and the Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Ayodhya on Saturday to inaugurate the Ayodhya airport and the revamped railway station, following the temple’s design and aesthetics.
The meeting today will play a crucial role in determining the final details for the installation of the idol and the consecration ceremony. As the nation eagerly awaits this historic event, the Ram Temple continues to garner attention from people across all walks of life.
