A Kapu community leader and former minister, Mudragada Padmanabham, has questioned Jana Sena party founder Pawan Kalyan for unilaterally asking for the Andhra Pradesh chief minister’s post, while claiming to contest the 2024 Assembly elections in a coalition with the TDP and the BJP. Kapus are a dominant land-owning caste in Andhra Pradesh. Padmanabham addressed a stinging letter to the actor-politician, questioning the rationale behind Kalyan asking the masses to make him the CM. He stressed that one should be loved by all after establishing a political party and raised his concerns over Kalyan’s use of uncalled for language. Moreover, Padmanabham raised several issues in his letter, including Kalyan allegedly targeting a Kakinada MLA, reservation for the Kapu community, railway zone, saving Vizag Steel Plant and others.
