Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently lauded President Draupadi Murmu as a strong symbol of women empowerment. In a tweet, he wished Murmu a happy 65th birthday and prayed for her good health. Murmu was born on June 20, 1958, in Odisha and started her career as a teacher before entering politics. She served as the Minister of State in the Government of Odisha from 2000 to 2004 and as a member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly from 2000 to 2009. In 2022, Murmu became the 15th President of India and the country’s first tribal president. She is also the second woman to hold the top post after Pratibha Patil. Previously, she served as the Governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021, becoming the state’s first female governor.
