In an unusual incident, a man in Jaipur presented coins worth Rs 55,000 as maintenance to his wife in court. Dashrath Kumawat paid the amount in denomination of one and two rupees in seven bags, which weighed around 280 kg. The act was opposed by the wife, Seema Kumawat, who called it an act of harassment. The court then directed the husband to get the coins counted on the next date and make bags of Rs 1,000 each before giving them to the wife. The couple has been going through a dispute for almost 10 years, which led to the husband filing for divorce. The family court had earlier directed Dashrath Kumawat to pay his wife Rs 5,000 as maintenance every month, but he had not paid for the past 11 months. The court then issued a recovery warrant against him, which was later converted into an arrest warrant. The man was arrested and produced in court, and released on bail after paying the amount due. The case is ongoing in Family Court-1 in Jaipur.
