Pagette, dye and designer bag: our gifts for 2024 to 27 athletes from here and elsewhere

Ahhhh, athletes. They may already have everything you could dream of – fitness, success and sometimes, wealth – but that’s no reason not to spoil them a little. This is why Le Journal has put together a small list of gifts for 27 of them, whether they come from Quebec or from elsewhere.

Some are sloppier than others, you will tell us, but all are offered with respect and love. Because we wish the best for the next year to these personalities who make their sport shine or who make us dream.

Let the ITF announce the addition of a Grand Slam tournament on indoor hard, its best surface. Or a potion that would allow him to display that same confidence on all types of surfaces.

An old DVD of the team’s two consecutive World Series (in 1992 and 1993), where we can clearly see that it could win without advanced statistics.

A supplier who sells them champagne at the price of beer, so that they can celebrate another championship in style for their 25th anniversary.

Teammates who have style. Ah, and that fake news can no longer be spread on social networks so easily (but we hope that for everyone, deep down).

With one of the biggest signings of the year, Genie Bouchard, professional tennis star with a WTA #5 career high in singles, join the PPA Tour in 2024! – Carvana PPA Tour

A bag that can hold tennis AND pickleball rackets, as the rest of his career doesn’t seem very clear. A designer bag, of course, looks better on Instagram.

The Bengals quarterback could probably buy everyone on this list gifts, with its $275 million over 5 years. But money can’t buy health. However, we can alleviate the problem by offering him a gift card to the physio.

A balance board. Developing stability (especially in the position of head coach), it really can’t hurt.

A GPS so that the Penguins get back on the path to victory and so that the last years of his career can be as glorious as the first.

Let a publishing house approach him to write this book which would not harm certain athletes (or personalities from all walks of life) who are tongue-tied: The art of delivering a speech after a victory.

A nail, so that he can hang on the wall, the only distinction missing from his illustrious career, in July: an Olympic gold medal.

A copy of the book Long track speed skating for dummies to all sports fans in Quebec so that they can appreciate the scope of his exploits.

We don’t wish misfortune on anyone, but… an injury to Canelo Alvarez so that Christian Mbilli or Erik Bazinyan has a chance to compete in a world championship fight?

The Alouettes quarterback left money on the table during his recent negotiations, in order to surround himself with good teammates. We therefore hope that they will buy him some dinners to thank him.

Sponsored by Tim Hortons. The Quebecois is already the poster child for so many brands, why not add her favorite coffee to the list?

A vibrating pillow to relieve him of the back problems he may have trying to remain the home run king with the Yankees, because Juan Soto may hit quite a few with the close fence in right field at Yankee Stadium.

A beautiful porcelain pig to store the millions of dollars that are coming if he continues to progress like this.

May the Kansas City tight end remain the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me in the words of Taylor Swift, and that his karma does not make him sink into the dark side of the songs of American song.

Supports to a very robust tablet. It’s not very original, but since he doesn’t seem to be about to stop accumulating trophies, it will undoubtedly come in handy.

A picture book for children, to learn numbers. After learning to count to two (playoff rounds, etc.) last year, they would have to go to three this season.

Nothing. He won the Stanley Cup (with Las Vegas, the team that beat Quebec for expansion in 2016, in addition), he was elected the playoff MVP. We’re proud of him, but we have to leave some for others!

A gift certificate from a bookseller, so he can buy a few books on leadership (which the Oilers seem to lack).

A box of Touch of Gray dye, to reduce the signs of time which are currently keeping him away from Wayne Gretzky’s goals record.

Even more sponsors, to help him shine on the Korn Ferry Tour, in the antechamber of the PGA, and so that he can continue to dream of accessing the PGA one day.

Lots of spectators in the stands during Montreal matches, so that his exploits are not only celebrated once every four years.

A Pagette. Because there are so many general managers in the NHL who still seem to be old school and don’t seem to know that he’s changed, that they still have to contact people that way.

Supreme essence, to help him overtake his teammate at Aston Martin (and the third driver from his team, above all).

Give him the world champion trophy right away. That way, he won’t have to put his life on the line for something that already seems acquired.

The gifts mentioned above range from practical to humorous and show the appreciation and support for these athletes. It’s clear that these gifts are given with love and respect, in hopes of bringing joy and success to the athletes in the coming years.
